A personal note from Pat's pad

Hello World,

Greetings from Sweet Home, Alabama!

It’s been about a year and a half since I announced my intention to publish a monthly newsletter. Sorry for the delay. I’ve been busy pettin’ the cat, washing the Caddy and organizing my eight-track tape collection.

I’ve also just completed work on a brand-new album called “The Lost Causeway”. It contains seventeen songs I wrote over a twenty-five year period (1979-2004). A CD release party is scheduled for April 16, 2006 at Pustervik Teatern in Göteborg, Sweden. Come on down.

“The Lost Causeway” features stellar performances once again by “A Damn Good Band” (Björn Almgren on tenor sax and percussion, Martina Almgren on drums, Owe Almgren on bass and Erik Weissglas on electric and baritone guitars). Returning on backing vocals are Cindy Walker and Marie Lewey. Their voices really sparkle, as always. I’m honored to have studio legends Spooner Oldham at the Hammond organ and Jerry “Boogie” McCain on harmonica. The last track on the album is a live cut of  “The Bigger They Come, The Harder They Fall” which features the recording debut of “The Sweet Swedish Songbirds” (Victoria Särnhult and Kerstin Ingvarsson). They did a wonderful job! You’ll definitely be hearing more from them on upcoming projects.

And speaking of upcoming projects, work has already begun on albums three, four and five. They’ll be called “Write On!”, “Less Is More, More Or Less” and “Shoal Music”, respectively. “Shoal Music” will be a collection of demos I recorded in Muscle Shoals from 1985 to 1991. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks to all of y’all out there for supporting my music.

I’ll see you in future, if not in the pasture.

Pat
