The Lost Causway

"The Lost Causeway” (released April 2006) is a roadtrip down the backroads, avenues and freeways of the past via the words and music of Pat Huggins. Accompanied once again by “A Damn Good Band” (Björn Almgren, sax and percussion, Owe Almgren,bass, Martina Almgren, drums and Erik Weissglas, electric and baritone guitars), Pat and the group bring to life stories and songs written over a 25 year period (1979-2004). It’s a very personal and compelling journey retold to a background of gospel, jazz, country/blues and rock and roll.

In addition to “A Damn Good Band”, “The Lost Causeway” features stellar performances by a host of singers and players, including studio legends Spooner Oldham on the Hammond organ and Jerry “Boogie” McCain blowing the harmonica. Returning on seven of the sixteen studio tracks are veteran background singers Cindy Walker and Marie Lewey. Victoria Särnhult and Kerstin Ingvarsson (“The Sweet Swedish Songbirds) make their debut on the one live cut, “The Bigger They Come, The Harder They Fall”.
